With a focus on complex commercial matters and sensitive corporate investigations, Luke Andrews has designed and executed legal strategies saving clients hundreds of millions of dollars in high-stakes matters across the country.

As trial counsel, he has led teams to victory in state and federal courts and other tribunals. As an appellate lawyer, he has conceived and delivered innovative arguments and transformed clients’ fortunes.

Luke specializes in working with expert witnesses. He has strategized with scores of experts in sophisticated disciplines, helping them frame complex thoughts in effective, courtroom form. And he has a genuine passion for cross-examination of opposing experts, exposing errors and misstatements and frequently persuading them to alter or even completely recant and withdraw their opinions.

Luke is a Master with the Judge Clarence Cooper Inn of Court. He received his J.D. from the Emory University School of Law, with distinction, order of the coif, in 1998, and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1991 with a B.A., cum laude, in Russian Language and Literature. He is proficient in spoken and written Russian.

Luke and his wife Brenda have three grown children. In his free time, Luke is a published poet and enjoys reading and foreign languages. He ran a sub-three-hour marathon and finished in the top 100 in the Peachtree Road Race, both after age 40.

Significant Representations

Nagle v. Experian Information Solutions, Inc., No. 99-03297 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. As lead trial counsel in a complex credit reporting case, won a zero-dollar verdict for the defendant.

Miner v. City of College Park, No. 2019 CV 318599 in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia. Won a major plaintiff’s verdict in a cutting-edge case under the Georgia Whistleblower Act.

Smith v. Northside Hospital, Inc., No. 2013 CV 239076 in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia. Served as trial counsel in landmark case under Georgia’s Open Records Act, which successfully established important Supreme Court precedent.

Carrier Corp. v. Technology Research LLC, No. A1810234 in the Court of Appeals of Georgia. Won a major ruling for defendant dismissing claims alleging damages caused by nationwide product recalls and successfully obtained affirmance of that ruling on appeal.

In re International Textile Group Merger Litigation, Greenville County, South Carolina. Litigated major class and derivative action through discovery, expert depositions, pretrial, and approval of class and derivative settlement, including a groundbreaking, successful interlocutory appeal.

Banks v. The Sherwin-Williams Company, Bolivar County Mississippi. Defended decade-long, multi-plaintiff action concerning alleged harms from lead-containing paint, including extensive, sophisticated expert discovery and depositions in fields including neuropsychology, toxicology, epidemiology, and others. See Banks ex rel. Banks v. Sherwin-Williams Co., 134 So. 3d 706, 712 (Miss. 2014) (opinion by Mississippi Supreme Court praising Sherwin-Williams’ attorneys).

Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund v. HealthSouth, Fulton County Georgia. Successfully litigated action seeking equitable reform and enforcement of commercial real estate lease.

Kang v. Noro-Moseley Partners, 246 F. App’x 662, 663 (11th Cir. 2007), successfully litigated action to quash international discovery subpoena, including affirmance by the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
